The name for my LLC is “soi-même” (pronounced “swa-mimm”) which means “Yourself” in French. In 2002, Yves St. Laurent gave a retirement speech during which he said something I still reflect upon and believe: “The most important meeting of your life is when you meet yourself.” In my clinical work, I help patients meet themselves, realize their dreams and hopes, and achieve them.
The motifs and colors on my website are a play on Piet Mondrian’s Compositions that follow the principles of Neoplasticism with rectangular prisms in primary color (red, blue, and yellow) and in non-color (white, black, and gray). The geometric grids exclude symmetry and are composed of vertical and horizontal lines and flat planes of color and non color; Mondrian believed this visual language expressed psychological and social ideals which foster harmony, unification, and a more evolved society.
